Hello and welcome to 4C. I would like to thank all of the parents who joined us for Clardy's open house. It was a pleasure meeting everyone. Like your child, I am eager to begin the new school year. This year we will be working heavily with technology. A major goal of mine is to significantly increase the vocabulary of our students. In addition, I would also like for every student to be able to have a working website, one where he or she will be able to showcase all of the wonderful learning that is taking place in and outside of the classroom. With that said, please ensure your child returns the email and student website permission slip I will be sending home this week. If there is a need to contact me, please call me at the school or by use of email:

Here's to a fantastic first week,
It has been a wonderful week back from Thanksgiving. It is great to be back and see all the students. I would like to share some student examples that some students have produced. Students who are accurately completing their class work have a chance to publish work using technology. Hope you enjoy. Please feel free to comment and please visit the YOUTUBE page for more videos.
I would like to share some photos of students at work. We have been learning a lot using the iPad to read and create student work. In addition to that, students have been working through hands-on activities to help reinforce educational concepts. Student work is first completed in class in a paper and pencil format, then students are encouraged to produce their work using technology. Students are also encouraged to master a concept and then create a project capturing them teaching. Please take some time to look at our CLASS BLOG, Student VOD & POD CAST, and Work Stations.
Students have been blogging their students work, creating collages on their interest, narrating step-by-step problem solving, etc. My goal is to have our students ready to excel in the 21st century by equipping them with the skills of tomorrow.
There are some scary Halloween pictures, please don't be frightened by the scary monsters:-) I hope you enjoy the pictures. Remember that I am always available to meet with you Tuesday through Friday during my conference time (9AM-9:45) or after school on Mondays and Wednesdays.

More projects are soon to come. We are learning a new tool that will enable us to capture and share the concepts we are learning.
